Traditional Counselling is grounded in ancestral knowledge, cultural teachings, and the Medicine Wheel, honouring the unceded territories where we live, work, and gather. As a Medicine Woman, the Traditional Counsellor carries and shares knowledge passed down through generations, recognizing that lived experience, connection, and reflection are important parts of healing.
This work supports individuals through the changing stages of relationships and life, encouraging self-awareness, personal growth, emotional regulation, healthy communication, and a stronger sense of self-worth and empowerment. Traditional teachings support individuals in understanding their strengths and vulnerabilities, developing healthy relationships, taking responsibility for their choices, and building skills to navigate challenges in constructive and non-destructive ways.
The counselling approach also recognizes the impacts of intergenerational trauma, colonization, abuse, and substance use, while supporting individuals to understand root causes, shift patterns, and move toward healthier ways of coping. Through individual counselling and group-based programming, including the Red Path, participants are supported in developing practical tools for problem-solving, stress management, communication, self-reflection, and positive decision-making.
At its heart, Traditional Counselling supports healing through connection—to self, ancestors, family, community, and culture—and encourages individuals to move forward on their journey with strength, awareness, hope, and renewed purpose.
